Another Stunt in FIFA World Cup 2022! Japan shocked Germany!

japan

Two consecutive days and two Asian countries’ victories over two football giants, first it was Saudi Arabia who beat Argentina and now it’s Japan. Germany, a four-time FIFA World Cup Champion, and one of the most successful nations in this business got beaten by Japan at the Khalifa International Stadium of Qatar with an eight-minute blitz.

This German squad was unbeaten for the last 21 matches. This is the first time after 1978 when Germany scored a goal first and lost the match. The last time it happened with Germany in 1978 where they lost their game by 3-2 even though they scored first.

Before the first half, Japan was behind a goal to level the score, but after half-time, Samurai’s nation altered their playing mechanism completely, defended lots of shots on target, and ensured two goals into the German net. Ritsu Dōan who was nicknamed the ‘Japanese Messi’ and Asano secured Japan’s victory by hitting two goals within just eight minutes.

Germany’s never-say-die attitude and aggressive fight back both were missing during the match. Germany’s 2014 world cup heroes Mario Götze, and Manuel Neuer who is playing his fourth and probably last world cup, were there, despite Germany’s 9 shots on target against japan’s 4, Germany failed to manage a victory over the Asian rising sun.
