Despite Portugal’s 74% ball possession against Morocco, shots on target were the same, 3-3, after the completion of the match. Both teams were playing high pressing fashion against each other. There was a chance to score a goal from a free kick in the 4th minute but Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou prevented João Félix’s headshot. And after that, the Moroccan attack and their one-touch football beauty smashed Portugal’s hope.

This is the last World Cup match for Ronaldo and Pepe. Cristiano Ronaldo, aged 37, has played five World Cups and is the first player in the history of this tournament to score in five different World Cup tournaments, and Pepe, aged 39 has played four World Cups from the Portuguese side.

Morocco now became the first African and the first Arab nation to reach World Cup Semifinals, a landmark achievement for Atlas Lions.
