Antoine Griezmann, the french guy who scored 6 goals in Euro 2016, exhibit some match-winning performances throughout the whole tournament. Despite, Griezmann’s injuries on multiple occasions, France coach Didier Deschamps reorganized Griezmann’s position to discover the best in him. In 2016, the current speedy mighty France was just emerging. The 2016 France was called that time the “Griezmann Generation”.

Post Griezmann Generation and Kylian Mbappe

Besides Griezmann Generation, a lesser-known teenage boy named Kylian Mbappe was starting his career. After the Griezmann generation, Mbappe, and Pogba are the role models of this generation’s French golden team.

Kylian Mbappe set some extraordinary goal-scoring records and helped to win France in their second world cup and was a torchbearer in their winning journey. In 2018, Mbappe scored 4 goals and scored in the final as a teenager. Once again, Mbappe is in the race for the golden boot of this world cup, already scored 5 goals equal to Lionel Messi. So, France has a goal-scoring machine on their side.

Underrated Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud, is probably the most underrated striker in this world cup, playing at his very best. Giroud scored 4 goals and even on the list of the Golden Boot race alongside Messi and his teammate Mbappe. Giroud surpassed Thierry Henry’s 51 goals record and now became the French top goal scorer.

France Injuries and Setbacks

However, this french side has a few setbacks because of some of their key player’s injuries. Most notably the current Ballon d’Or winner Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, suffered from injuries before the world cup started. Another two mid-field duo Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante also injured and haven’t played a single match in this tournament. Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante both were in the France’s regular starting XI mid-field weapon exactly four years ago.

Deschamps made a bold decision here by putting Antonio Griezmann in the midfield position, so Griezmann is now a niddle mover from the back for this trio Mbappe, Giroud, and Ousmane Dembele. His light of effectiveness already comes to fruition in the Quarter final against England he assisted Giroud’s winning goal. As for Deschamps’s defense the former Argentina defender Pablo Zabaleta told AFP,

“He (Antoine Griezmann) is doing the job of Pogba, Kante and Karim Benzema,”
